Korea ethanol finishes week down 3%

Spot Korea B-grade ethanol ended this week down 3% in a quiet session on Friday, bringing losses over the past month to 9%. Brazilian FOB Santos anhydrous prices have shown a similar trend, after dropping 4% WoW and 12% MoM.  Brazilian ethanol exports have remained locked out of the US due to low US ethanol and corn prices, despite a weakening Real against the USD. Pakistan ethanol production has been struggling, with the sugarcane crop still feeling the pain of the season’s earlier drought and more recent flooding. As the milling season comes to a close, this is leaving Pakistani suppliers short on their commitments to the Philippines, South Korea, and Japan, where buyers will have to look elsewhere in order to satisfy their demand.
