Where are investment dollars in the “advanced” sector going?

“Demand for low carbon intensity fuels is booming on the US West Coast, while the Trump-sponsored EPA is widely expected to flatline its crop-based biofuel mandate in its latest demand proposal. The EU meanwhile is formalising proposals to shrink consumption of crop-based biofuels in its bloc-wide mandate as RED II negotiations reach their final phase this year. For the low carbon transport fuels producers, policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic are merely entrenching the accelerating direction of travel away from crops and towards the use of wastes in fuel. For investors, the signal to direct cash to waste supply chains and technology-dependent waste-to-fuel conversion methods is already clear, with stimulus accelerating.”
