Argentina celebrates as EU votes to slash biodiesel anti-dumping..
Argentinian exporters are eyeing the imminent and lucrative re-opening of the European biodiesel market after a majority of EU member states voted through the European Commission’s plans to slash four year old anti-dumping duties on Thursday.
Argentina’s Foreign Ministry trumpeted the decision immediately after receiving EU confirmation of the decision on Thursday, Argentina’s Foreign Ministry told PRIMA. The Ministry said it expects trade to the EU to resume within two weeks once tariffs are adjusted.
European sources reported 10 votes in favour of the European Commission’s reduced tariffs, with 6 votes against and 10 abstentions.While a simple majority allows the European Commission to automatically implement the proposal under EU procedure, European producers’ association EBB cautions that the thin vote in favour lends itself to speedy implementation of a separate…..
