Germany’s agriculture ministry has confirmed a 20% downgrade to the country’s rapeseed harvest in 2015 as increased pest damage and drought have taken their toll. German farmers are expected to produce 5mn t of rapeseed, although 8% less than the five year average. Higher-than usual sampled oil yields however may offer slight consolation to rapeseed farmers, the ministry said on Friday.
Overall, Germany’s grain harvest is expected to hit 48.2mn t based on below-average sampled yields from an increased YoY footprint. This will beat the five year average by 3%.[embeddoc url=”http://prima-markets.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/German-harvest-2015.pdf” viewer=”google”]
