France has upped its 2015/2016 wheat production forecast to 40.994mn t in its October update, a gain of 0.7% relative to the September forecast of 40.7mn t and 9.4% over the 2014/2015 level.
The upgrade reflects both an increase in expected acreage from 5.155mn ha to 5.166mn ha, as well as a 0.4% upgrade to projected yields.
France’s projected offtake of wheat for alcohol and bioethanol manufacture meanwhile was steady MoM at 1.56mn t, equivalent to just under 4% of France’s overall wheat output.
France is Europe’s largest grains producer, supplying 26.4% of EU 28 grains output in the 2015 harvest.
France will release fresh monthly data for rapeseed output on 20 October.
