European industry plans fresh trade sanctions on Argentina


The European Biodiesel Board is preparing fresh legal action aimed at blocking Argentinian biodiesel exports into Europe with the announcement of a new case for countervailing duties against Argentinian sellers. The EBB is now busy alerting EU member state and the European Commission to what it says is Argentina’s ability to sell biodiesel at prices below “the cost of raw materials alone in the EU,” calling for the Commission to back a registration system for imports that would likely chill traders’ eagerness to arbitrage product into Europe for fear of being hit with another round of retroactive duties. …
